Start of season 6th May 2005
-new rubber Bridgestone Battlax BT-014, front and rear. Feels mighty good. I'll try to avoid running fast on highways, at least when carrying a passanger. I think the rubber gets too hot then and wears much too quickly.
-hugger bought from Ebay does not fit without little fooling with fiberglass, need to make more room for the tire. UPDATE: now it is fitted, not the best possible fit but seems to work ok.
-V-flow double bubble screen by Sportech didn't fit as good as Suzuki OEM screen, but it looks really cool. UPDATE: fit was so bad that screen split after 2000 km, also it was too dark and worst thing - added fuel consumption, back to OEM screen...
-installed a JSD TRE, great product! also installed JSD dealer mode switch.
-TPS adjusted
-I really need to get one of those Suzuki throttle body sync tools; TPS adjustment helped a lot, but there is still some twitchiness on the throttle.
-24000 km, air filter check, adjusted idle.
-27031 km, new oil (mineral 10w-40 from Neste), clutch adjusted, brake and clutch levers rotated down - hand position is now better. tried brake cleaner and sanded front rotors, still shakes under heavy deceleration, need to sand those rotors more?
-Bridgestone is bald, changed to Pirelli Dragon Supercorsa at 27500km UPDATE: mighty good tyre in dry conditions, wear was also really nice and profile stayed good all through the tyre's life.
-oil sucked bigtime, dropped it at 28000, poured similar oil in and warmed up, to get most shit out of engine. Now I'm trying Motul 300V 15w-50 Competition 100% synthetic ester based oil, also replaced oil filter. UPDATE: after 500km hard riding no missed shifts, no false neutrals...still I think 10w-40 or 10w-50 would be better...UPDATE: after about 3000 km the oil is bad, clutch won't work nicely on cold oil it gets like stuck and gear just keeps pulling even with clutch fully engaged, problem goes away when oil gets hot, must be those esters that get oxygenated etc.
-took brake pads out and sanded them, degreased pistons. also tried to sand the rotors more...no good. they need to be taken out and about 0.1mm removed from each side.
-31000km air filter check.
-32520km dropped Motul, clutch was so bad, took oil filter out and poured oil from it the put it back (to get rid of all those rotten esters). Now I'm trying Neste fully synthetic car oil, Neste Pro 5w-40. We'll see if clutch starts slipping... UPDATE: those false neutrals again, it must be a question of viscosity, 15w-50 is good, 10w-40 (and 5w-40 even more so) is bad.
-35000km, new rear tyre, old reliable Bridgestone Battlax BT-020
-36000km, new oil Shell Advance Ultra 15w-50. new oil filter, new air filter. great at first, after a while that clutch problem again but not as bad as with Motul Racing oil.
-40700km, 4th Sep The End of Season 2005 (front tire finished) new oil, Shell Advance Ultra 10w-40, drained oil filter also
